GoSL reaffirms stance on “One China Policy” ; Cabinet approval for several MoUs
Cabinet approval has been granted to continue following the “One China Policy”.
“Sri Lankan government has continuously followed the “One China Policy” and, by that it is accepted that legitimate China is only the People’s Republic of China and, Taiwan is only a province of China. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the fact furnished by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism indicating that Sri Lanka further follows the same policy as it is and act adhering to the same,” the Department of Government Information has said.
Also, speaking at today’s (Jan. 07) Cabinet briefing, Cabinet spokesman – Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa also stated that cabinet approval has been granted to sign several agreements and a certificate of handover with China.
