April Festive season : Several transport sectors report increase in income
The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) says its daily income has increased to Rs. 25 million due to the special bus service provided in view of the April New Year festival.
From April 05, the SLTB deployed 200 buses as part of a special service for the convenience of the public travelling to their hometowns during the festive season.
SLTB Deputy General Manager Panduka Swarnahansa revealed that thereby, the SLTB’s daily income has increased up to Rs. 25 million.
Meanwhile, the Road Development Authority (RDA) reported a 10% increase in its income as of yesterday, as a result of the current April festive season.
The RDA further said it expects its income to further increase by April 15, 2024.
Furthermore, the Railway Department has introduced 12 more trains in view of the April festive season.
The Railway Department said the special train services will be in operation until April 15, 2024
