SHOOTING AT SIGHT ORDERS WITHDRAWN BY RANIL UNLESS VIOLENCE ERUPTS AGAIN

Won’t allow shooting orders to continue – PM

Newly sworn in Prime Minister – Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that he will not allow the shoot on sight orders to continue unless violence erupts again in the country.

Speaking to foreign media today (13), the PM has assured safety for the protesters while pledging to immediately address the economic crisis in the country.

Speaking yesterday also, Mr. Wickremesinghe has stated that the GotaGoGama struggle must continue, and he will not intervene with the struggle and nor will the police do anything.
