Regional reporter assaulted in Negombo
The Negombo reporter of Sirasa media station – M.Z. Sajahan has been assaulted while recording footage at the Dalupotha Ceypetco fuel station, reports say.
The Negombo police has already arrested two employees of the fuel station and its owner.
The incident had taken place around 8.10pm today (01) when Mr. Sajahan had gone to do a video report on the situation at fuel stations for the night news bulletin.
While he was taking footage and photos, the owner of the fuel station and two employees had assaulted him. They had even seized his media accreditation card issued by the Department of Government Information and his mobile phone.
