Sports Minister says under 19 world cup is big loss

We have missed good opportunity to host ICC under 19 world cup which is scheduled to be held in January and February and due to this suspension that is moved to South Africa. However Sri Lanka earlier planned to conduct this tournament and ICC spent some money to arrange this under 19 world cup and due to hosting change to South Africa SLC had to return that money to ICC.

We missed that great opportunity and lost more than 600 million Dollars for hotel accommodation and transport and that is a very big loss for Sri Lanka said new Sports Minister Harin Fernando. now we are unlikely to get the hosting rights Sports Minister.is hoping at least ICC Annual Meeting could be hosted by Sri Lanka next year
