SLPP candidate will not sell national assets
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser MP Namal Rajapaksa stated that the party has not received any written communication indicating that President Ranil Wickremesinghe or businessman Dhammika Perera will contest in the upcoming Presidential election.
Rajapaksa said that he has also not communicated such information to the party.
He made these remarks in response to journalists’ questions as to who would represent the SLPP in the election.
Rajapaksa noted that the SLPP candidate will be someone capable of repaying the country’s debt without selling national assets. He added that several hopefuls are in talks with the party, and the suitable candidate will be announced at the appropriate time.
