SLPP announces National List nominee
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has named Namal Rajapaksa as its National List representative in Parliament, SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said. The move comes as the SLPP adjusts to a steep reduction in its parliamentary presence.
The SLPP previously held a dominant 145 seats following the 2020 general election. However, in the recent election, the party managed to retain only three seats, including one allocated through the National List, significantly reducing its influence in the legislature.
