The Department of Railways will operate a number of special trains during the festive season aimed providing better service for passengers returning to their homes and villages.

In addition to regular long-distance service trains, 8 special trains will be added to the service.

03 special trains will be operated from Colombo Fort to Badulla and 03 other trains operating from Badulla to Colombo Fort.

Meanwhile, a special train will be put into operation from Colombo Fort to Kankesanturai and another train from Kankesanturai to Colombo Fort.

Accordingly, the special trains will be put into operation from today (Dec. 23).
