Rs. 160mn ticket sales from SL – Aus series so far

It is said that an income of over Rs. 160 million has been earned from the ticket sales of 03 T20 matches and the 05 ODI matches of the Sri Lanka – Australia series.

An income of Rs. 42mn has been earned from the ticket sales at the Pallekele stadium for the one T20 match and 02 ODIs held there.

From the 02 T20s and 03 ODIs held at the R. Premadasa Stadium, an income of Rs. 25 has been garnered.

The R. Premadasa stadium, which has a capacity of around 35,000 spectators, has exceeded maximum capacity at the 5th and final ODI, according to internal sources of Sri Lanka Cricket.

According to the same sources, the ticket revenue for an international cricket match at the Premadasa Stadium is around Rs. 20 – 25 million a day, while for a cricket match at the Pallekele Stadium it is around Rs. 10 – 15 million.

Sri Lanka Cricket had earlier announced that it would donate the entire ticket proceeds of the three Twenty20 matches, five day-night ODIs and the forthcoming two Tests for the welfare of people affected by the economic crisis.

Speaking during the pre-match briefing, SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva said the revenue from ticket sales will be handed to authorities considering the prevailing situation in the country.
