The Sri Lankan team qualified for the semi-finals of the Asia Cup Women’s T20 Championship today after winning the match against Bangladesh by 3 runs.

Accordingly, the Sri Lankan players had managed to win 4 out of the 5 matches they played in the tournament so far.

The Sri Lankan players who batted first scored only 83 runs in the bowler friendly pitch when the match was stopped in the 19th over due to the rain.

Nilakshi de Silva scored 28 points and Harshita Samarawickrama, who has been performing well with the bat throughout the tournament, scored 18 points. According to the D/L method, Bangladesh faced a target of 41 runs in 7 overs.

However, their innings was limited to 37 runs for 7 wickets. Inoka Ranaweera ripped through the Bangladesh batting order, bagging 04 wickets. With this Sri Lanka clinched a 03-run win and a spot in the semifinals.
