“Taiwan is only a province of China” Sri Lanka Govt reaffirms position
The new Sri Lankan Cabinet of Ministers has officially reaffirmed the country’s longstanding commitment to the “One China Policy.”
This decision was confirmed following the submission of a report by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism during this weeks Cabinet meeting.
Under this policy, Sri Lanka recognizes the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as the sole legitimate government of China and acknowledges Taiwan as a province of China. The Cabinet emphasized the continuation of this position as a cornerstone of Sri Lanka’s foreign policy.
