Hirunika, Dulanjalee give statements to CID
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has obtained a nearly five-hour statement from Samagi Jana Balawegaya member – Hirunika Premachandra today (20).
Speaking to the media after recording the statement, Premachandra said she was inquired about the torching of President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private residence in Colombo 03.
Premachandra said President Wickremesinghe has mentioned her name in his statement given to the law enforcement authorities.Speaking further, she said those who were involved in setting fire to the president’s private residence are still at large.Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa’s sister – Dulanjalee Premadasa was also summoned by the CID to obtain a statement over the same incident.
Speaking to journalists after giving a statement, Dulanjalee Premadasa said that she had been near Mr. Wickremesinghe’s house at the time of the incident and that the CID had asked her to provide a statement to assist in the investigations.
