Sri Lanka received stock of blood transfusion bags
The Ministry of Health states that Sri Lanka has received a stock of blood transfusion bags that were in short supply at the National Blood Transfusion Center.
Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said that the Blood Transfusion Center requires around 8000 blood transfusion bags per week.
He said that this stock of blood transfusion bags were received on the 27th of this month as a donation from overseas.
The Director General further noted that another stock of blood transfusion bags are expected to arrive in the country by the second week of May.
