Strict punishment for Buddhagaya terrorist bombers

A Patna court in India sentenced three convicts to life imprisonment and five others to 10 years in prison yesterday (Jan. 17) for the January 19, 2018 bombing in Buddhagaya, India.

The bomber struck shortly after an event attended by the Dalai Lama.Two monks were seriously injured in the attack.

Relevant offenders have been charged with waging war against the state under sections 16, 18 and 20 of the Prevention of Illegal Activities Act and Section 4/5 of the Explosives Act.

Following the trial, the convicts were taken to the Beur Central Prison under tight security, according to foreign media reports.
