The main suspect in the death of the 16-year-old girl who died mysteriously after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Kalutara has confessed to the Kalutara South Police that the girl jumped from a window after she received a phone call.Followed by a phone call, the girl has allegedly said ‘I trusted you but you deceived me. What am I going to do now?”

According to the suspect, the girl had gone to the window of the room, placed a chair and then jumped out of the window.The girl’s post-mortem examination was held on May 7 at the Kalutara Hospital, where the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) gave an open verdict and recommended that samples obtained be sent to the government analyst.

The JMO’s report further said that the student had not been raped.
