No dollars to clear 03 gas ships stranded at the port?
It is reported that three ships have been stranded at the Port of Colombo due to non-issuance of letters of credit by commercial banks.
It is said that the supply of gas to the market has been restricted as Litro currently has a limited gas reserve.
Due to this situation, the distribution of “Litro” gas has been restricted to factories and crematoriums.
It is reported that there is a possibility of another major gas crisis arising in the market similar to the oil crisis that has arisen if the dollars required for the Letters of Credit for the clearance of at least one of the ships stranded at the port is not received from any commercial bank.
