3 jumbos electrocuted
Carcasses of 03 wild elephants including a tusker were discovered in a paddy field in Mihinthalaya today (14).
Director General of Wildlife – Chandana Sooriyabandara said a preliminary examination revealed that the jumbos had died of electrocution after coming into contact with an electricity cable illegally set up in the vicinity.
A police investigation is also underway.
