Rambukkana incident : 3 police officers transferred!
The Rambukkana OIC, the Divisional Superintendent of Police and the Kegalle SSP have been transferred with immediate effect in connection with the recent riots in the Rambukkana area, the Police Media Unit said.
A statement issued by the Police Media Unit stated that these steps were taken in order to allow the aggrieved parties and witnesses to participate in independent investigations and court proceedings.
The IGP – C.D. Wickramaratne had handed over the investigation of the Rambukkana incident to the CID.
Accordingly, three police officers were transferred to allow the aggrieved parties and witnesses to participate in investigations and court proceedings without any hindrance, the police Media unit said in its statement.
