25 panels to probe complaints on missing persons
Cabinet approval has been granted to appoint 25 investigative panels appointed to probe complaints regarding missing persons.
The Cabinet paper was tabled by the Justice minister.
According to the Act, No. 14 of 2016, regional offices set up in Matara, Mannar, Jaffna, Batticaloa and Kilinochchi have received 14,988 complaints.
The investigative panels are appointed to speed up investigations of these complaints.
