Speaker complains to IGP over torch incident in Parliament!
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena stated in Parliament today (25) that he would lodge a complaint with the IGP regarding the incident where a group of Samagi Jana Balawegaya members had threatening the police officers and obstructed their duties and had brought a suspicious parcel into the Parliament complex yesterday.
He noted that based on the information revealed through an investigation he will take appropriate action and would also notify the House regarding his decision.
The Speaker said this during a discussion between the ruling and opposition parties in Parliament this morning.
