TRAFFIC POLICE OFFICERS REWARDS INCREASED

Reward for Traffic Police Officers increased

 

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon has issued a circular to increase the rewards for traffic police officers.

The Police Media Unit said that the increase comes after a period of 13 years and it will be paid on a monthly basis. 

Accordingly, Traffic Police OICs and inspector-category officers will receive a reward of Rs. 7,500, up from Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 2,000, respectively.

Police sergeants and constables will now receive a monthly reward of Rs. 6,000, increased from the current Rs. 1,800 and Rs. 1,600, respectively. Police constable drivers will receive Rs. 4,000, up from the current Rs. 1,200.
