Three months ago, on September 6th (2021), Sri Lankans, the world over, reacted in shock when they heard the news that Gypsies’ Sunil Perera had succumbed to Covid-19.
Many found it hard to believe that this great entertainer, singer, and composer, was no more in the land of the living.
Of course, he will never ever be forgotten, in the music world, and his son, Sajith, has come up with a very special song, in memory of his father’s third month death anniversary, titled ‘Ninda Noyayi.’
Says Sajith, describing the song on YouTube: “After a three-month break, from social media, I’m here with a song I never expected to release, in which the words cut through me every time I sing the rhymes that flow from my heart. I never got to tell him that he is my Hero and I love him so much.
“I would like to take this time to thank all those who reached out to me and kept all of us in your prayers, and helped us pass this difficult time, and for those who have been a light to us, when we were in darkness.”
