Trishaw fares upped! PickMe & Uber to be affected too?
The National Union of Three Wheelers and Industrialists stated that the fare for the first kilometer of three-wheelers has been increased by Rs. 30 due to the increase in fuel prices from midnight yesterday (20).
Accordingly, the fare charged for the first kilometer will be increased from Rs. 50 to Rs. 80.
However, the secretary of the society Rohana Perera stated that the Rs. 45 fee charged from the second kilometer will not be increased.
Affect on Uber & PickMe
Meanwhile, ‘from PickMe and Uber on whether their rates too, will be affected.
Speaking, PickMe said they are currently charging Rs. 110 for the first two kilometres in the Colombo suburbs and then Rs. 35 per additional kilometre. However, they said that no change in rates have taken place yet.
Meanwhile, Uber stated that they charge Rs. 120 for the first two kilometres and then Rs. 35 per additional kilometre.
