Mary Lawlor expresses concern over detention orders
UN special Rapporteur Mary Lawlor has called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe to refrain from signing the detention orders against Wasantha Mudalige and others, arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
She tweeted as follows:
“I’m deeply concerned that Human Rights Defenders Wasantha Mudalige, Hashan Jeevantha & Galwewa Siridamma Himi have been arrested under the #SriLanka’s Prevention of Terrorism Act. I call on President Ranil not to sign their detention order …”
