SLAF peacekeeping missions contribute $130 mn. to Treasury
A new contingent from the Sri Lanka Air Force, comprising 20 officers and 88 airmen, will depart for the Central African Republic in early December for peacekeeping duties under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSCA).
Since 2014, the SLAF’s involvement in peacekeeping missions has contributed approximately 130 million USD to the national Treasury.
The Passing Out Parade for this 10th contingent was held at SLAF Base Katunayake, with Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa taking the salute.
He noted the praise from UN Headquarters for the Sri Lankan forces’ professionalism and dedication, underscoring the mission’s role in boosting Sri Lanka’s international standing and economic gains.
