Income tax : Notice from IRD to public
Sri Lanka’s Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has warned the public of a financial scam by individuals posing as IRD officials collecting tax money.
Issuing a statement, the IRD said that individuals posing as IRD officers have been arrested by the Police for falsely collecting tax money in various parts of the nation.
The public has been urged to file a complaint at the nearest Police Station if they have encountered and paid money to such fake IRD officers and if their area is under investigation.
