Water tariff hike from today
The 70% increase in water tariffs will come into effect from today (01).
Accordingly, the water usage charge per unit and monthly service charge of an average house will increase under the new revision.
A unit of water is considered to be 1,000 liters.
According to the previous pricing system, the water bill of an average house that uses 15 units of water is Rs.310.
According to the revised price, the water bill of a house using 15 units will be Rs.705.
