World Bank Country Director for Sri Lanka Faris Hadad-Zervos has assured to provide maximum support to Sri Lanka to cope with the current crisis.

The World Bank Country Director for Sri Lanka has said that they are hoping to rearrange the existing projects to provide financial assistance to cope with the difficult situation.

He said the World Bank would extend further support after the government reaches an agreement with the International Monetary Fund.

The matter was revealed during a discussion between World Bank representatives and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s Palace in Colombo Fort this afternoon.

Meanwhile, President Rajapaksa has pointed out the current situation in the country and the need to extend the World Bank loan assistance to banks and financial institutions.
