Youth dies as selfie attempt goes awry
A youth had died after falling near a waterfall at the Sun Valley estate in Udaweriya, Haldummulla, while attempting to take a selfie near the waterfall.
The police said that the deceased has been identified as a 24-year-old resident of Welamitiyawa, Guruthalawa.
Two youths had visited the waterfall last Friday and the victim had slipped and fallen to his death while they attempted to take a selfie.
His body has been found in a waterhole about 200 meters away from the site of the incident.Haldummulla police are conducting further investigations.
